How to Make a Circle Outline or Hollow Circle in Premiere Pro

In this tutorial you’ll learn how to make a circle outline in Premiere Pro. You may also call this a hollow circle or empty circle or circle border or circle stroke in Premiere Pro. Whatever you call it, here’s how to easily create one.

Using the Ellipse Tool to Make a Circle in Premiere Pro

To make a circle outline in Premiere Pro, first you need to draw a circle. In the Toolbar find the Ellipse Tool and activate it. It may be under the Rectangle Tool. If you see the Rectangle Tool, click and hold down the mouse and the other shape tools will appear for you to select the Ellipse Tool.

Next, draw a circle in the Program Monitor. You can always resize or reposition it later if needed. Holding the Shift key while drawing the circle will constrain it so it draws a perfect circle instead of an oval.

Locate the Essential Graphics panel. If you don’t see if, go under the Window menu and select it.

Scroll down until you find Fill and Stroke. Under Stroke, check this option on. Then choose the color (this is the Premiere Pro circle outline color) and then set the border width. Now uncheck Fill to make it so just the circle outline / border / stroke / whatever you call it is showing.
